In October 2015, Paul Barry became the master franchise owner of BMD of Central Florida. Through its fulfillment affiliate, Big Mouth Local, BMD offers small- and medium-sized business owners a comprehensive suite of affordable digital advertising services. Some of these include website development and design, social media campaigns and reputation management.
“After researching many franchises and other business opportunities, BMD was the best fit across opportunity, industry and for my personal background and experiences,” Barry said. He was also attracted to the company’s “fun, profitable and fast-moving businesses.”
From 1987 to 2014, Barry worked for PepsiCo. He held finance, sales and general management positions in the Frito-Lay and Quaker-Tropicana-Gatorade divisions. In 1993, he moved to Florida joining the Frito regional business team.
Barry, who wanted to run his own business, decided to become a BMD franchise owner for several reasons:
To build his BMD franchise, Barry can draw on his extensive connections in Central Florida including the Seminole County Chamber of Commerce. He has served on the Florida State University – Board of Directors for Professional Sales Department. Barry is also a past member of the Orlando NAACP Corporate Board of Directors.
In addition, he has participated in the Leadership Development Program at the Center for Creative Leadership. As a corporate athlete graduate, he has continued to pursue professional development opportunities. These include “Effective Workflow, Time Management, Public Speaking, & Professional Sales Training.”
In 1984, Barry earned a bachelor of business administration and business computing systems from New Mexico State University.
